One hundred twelve GTU students, alumni, faculty, and emeriti played prominent roles at the November 2007 annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion (AAR) and Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) held in San Diego, CA – presenting papers, serving on panels, responding to lectures. Dr. Jane Daggett Dillenberger, professor emerita, received the AAR Award in Religion and the Arts for her pioneering work at a special reception. Dr. Doug Adams was honored posthumously for his contribution to the field. Hundreds more representing GTU attended the myriad of sessions on a broad range of topics from Asian cultures to religious parody and theological aesthetics to marginalized voices including feminist perspectives, queer studies, and post-colonialism.
