Application Process
A. Domestic Students
- Complete and return the 2008-09 Domestic Student Financial Aid Supplement to the GTU Financial Aid Office by your school’s priority deadline. Please save the completed form as a PDF and e-mail it to finaid@gtu.edu as an attachment or print the form and mail the completed form to the GTU Financial Aid Office at 2400 Ridge Road, Berkeley, CA 94709. You can also fax the form to the GTU Financial Aid Office at 510-649-1730. If you have any trouble with the PDF, we suggest dowloading the latest free version of the Adobe Reader software at www.adobe.com or e-mailing the Financial Aid Office at finaid@gtu.edu. NOTE: Mac users may experience trouble if they use the Safari browser and should instead use Internet Exporer or Firefox browsers.
- File the 2008-09 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the federal processor by your school’s priority deadline. The 2008-09 version of the FAFSA will be accessible after January 1, 2008. Use estimated 2008 information if your taxes are not complete by the priority deadline. The FAFSA may be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. To request a paper FAFSA please call: 800/433-3243. We recommend the online application as the faster of the two methods.
- Members of religious orders must submit a letter from their superiors regarding their financial situation. The letter should indicate the level of support that the order will provide for the student’s education in the upcoming academic year.
- GTU Doctoral Students are also required to submit a 2008-09 Verification Worksheet and a signed copy of their 2007 US Federal Tax Return, including all schedules, to the GTU Financial Aid Office.
- NOTE: Students at JSTB, DSPT and SKSM should contact their schools directly for institutional grant/scholarship applications. If students at these schools are interested only in institutional grant/scholarship, then they need not submit any of the documents listed above to the GTU Financial Aid Office.
